Equipping Leaders & Empowering Communities
Rooted in Faith, Guided by Purpose
Faith has been the cornerstone of my personal and professional journey, shaping not just who I am but how I lead and serve. Grounded in Christian values, I am deeply committed to fostering environments where individuals can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. These experiences have informed my passion for creating inclusive spaces that cultivate belonging—a concept I continue to explore and champion within workplace contexts. My work reflects a belief that true growth is achieved when accountability, compassion, and intentionality intersect.
Leadership with Impact
Growing up in the City of Gary, a community defined by its resilience and faith, I witnessed the transformative power of inclusive leadership. My parents, who served as both faith leaders and community advocates, modeled how creating spaces of belonging can empower individuals and uplift entire communities. These lessons inspired me to lead initiatives that align values with action, always with a focus on inclusivity and service.
One example of this is BeActive, a mentorship event for teenage girls where I mobilized volunteers, sponsors, and resources to create a transformative experience. By bringing together diverse participants, I fostered an environment where young women felt seen, valued, and supported—reflecting my broader commitment to creating spaces of belonging in all areas of my work.
Mentorship and Cultivating Belonging
Throughout my journey, I have prioritized mentoring individuals at various stages of life—from school-aged children to early-career professionals. My work with youth and young adult ministries allowed me to design inclusive, faith-driven initiatives that celebrated diversity while fostering connection. As a small group coach, I expanded these efforts by developing curricula for over 100 small groups, empowering participants to grow spiritually and connect meaningfully with others.
These experiences shaped my understanding of belonging as a critical element of leadership. By creating environments where individuals from different backgrounds feel valued and engaged, I have seen firsthand how inclusivity drives personal and collective transformation. This insight continues to inform my work as I examine how to build workplace cultures that embrace diversity, foster belonging, and enable individuals to thrive.
Resilience in Service
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I launched Today is Tuesday, a virtual space that provided encouragement, connection, and community during an unprecedented time. This initiative reinforced the importance of inclusive leadership in moments of uncertainty, ensuring that everyone had a place to feel supported. Similarly, as a Ph.D. student, my focus on addressing food insecurity in San Diego emphasized the value of meeting both spiritual and physical needs, further deepening my understanding of service as a bridge to belonging.
Bridging Faith, Inclusion, and Professional Growth
In professional spaces, I integrate faith-based principles with leadership and learning expertise to create initiatives that inspire transformation. This approach includes designing programs and facilitating workshops that promote inclusion, equity, and belonging within workplace cultures. By drawing on my experiences in creating inclusive environments, I help organizations understand how belonging is central to unlocking potential and fostering community.
Whether mentoring, leading programs, or facilitating development, I remain passionate about helping others grow with intentionality and purpose. My work reflects a deep understanding of how faith, education, and inclusion intersect, creating opportunities for holistic growth that extend beyond individual success to foster lasting impact in organizations and communities.
