You Weren’t Just Hired, You Were Called

Writing this piece is both a milestone and a moment of reflection. It is an opportunity for me to honor the many Black women who have poured into me and those whom I have poured into. It is also a reminder of God’s call for us to be light in every space we occupy, even when systems and structures fail to recognize our worth.
The Ongoing Battle for Educational Equity

For many students, the path after high school leads directly into the workforce, and there is dignity in that. But for those who desire a college education, we must ensure they have access to the support systems they need. The dreams of our current and future generations of scholars, who have so many odds stacked against them, deserve a chance to be realized.
